Users Online

This new feature is ace! It shows us, or you, precisely who is online at any one time. It was installed on 6th May, so the ‘most users online’ count is actually the most online since that date. Perhaps the coolest feature is being able to see when bots are crawling pages, it shows me where they are on the site, and hopefully it will generally be on one of the very newest posts! I wanted to open up this plugin so that the sites contributors and subscribers can see this for themselves, and to keep an eye on just how high that record can go.

The count is accurate within 300 seconds (that is 5 minutes, by the way), so each visitor showing on this list may not be on the site right now but has been within the last 300 seconds. It only shows the latest page view per visitor, some may of course read multiple pages on the site. We may have to reconsider whether to offer this feature if the site gets too busy, it does put a little bit of pressure on our server!
